LET’S NOT beat around the bush

You know the ones—stocked with pre-made logos that made you believe slapping your business name in a template is all you needed to look legit. Or that website builder that seemed superrrr easy to plug all your info into and go live in days… until you actually started and it made you wanna pull your hoodie over your eyes, throw your face into a pillow, and scream.
Been there, done that, and grew this whole business because of it
no, like, actually though…
Without getting into all the details, GRO Creative Studio started as the product of some motivational make-money-from-home-as-a-writer TikToks, a freelancing platform, and a college drop-out with a dream. Once I came to terms with the fact that a freelancing platform wasn’t going to be a long-term solution, I decided I needed my own brand and website.
The only issue was, I didn’t have one clue about either of those things
So I created a makeshift logo from a random template—which I changed about 5 times within the month, but that’s beside the point—threw a poorly customized website up on the interweb, and called it good enough.
But good enough didn’t feel right and I didn’t want that to be what represented my whole business, so I became obsessed with figuring out how to make my branding and website feel inviting, authentic, and like me.

My clients call me “Design Queen” and “Expectation Exceeder”— but you can just call me Giuliana (for now)
I’m a total sucker for bed rot days, frozen coffee (yes, even in the dead of winter), being passenger princess (the bf spoils me), and some juicy reality tv.
I have an abnormally high Duolingo streak, I’m unashamed of my emotional support water bottle (that said bf thinks he has shared custody over, but I guess it evens out for him basically being my chauffeur), and one of my fave meme accounts is called ‘Christians Who Curse Sometimes,’—which, honestly, is the most accurate description of me as a person.
I’m for sure not a fan of waking up before 9am, hot showers (I know, controversial), any sort of bug, oh, and bacon. I despise bacon (again, well aware this is a super hot take).

I MIGHT AS WELL ADD THIS DESIGN ONE TO THE POT
I don’t want people to think your branding and website are pretty
Okay, okay—obviously, I do. I mean how could I be considered a “modern website designer” or “go-to” for friendly branding if my designs weren’t also nice to look at.
But what’s most important to me is that the branding and websites I design are functional, impactful, and doing their dang job effectively. Because without that, they’re about as good as a vase of Trader Joe’s flowers. They look really cute for now, but there’s no real growth happening in the long run.
now, don’t get me wrong
I drool over the swirliest, dreamiest cursive fonts just as much as the next Gen Z or Millennial girly—but what good is a font that people can’t even read?!
And you will not catch me dead in the dirt adding those “trendy” and “aesthetically pleasing” website sections—that have visitors convinced they’re computer illiterate by the end of the page—just for *design sake*.
IN MY OPINION, GOOD DESIGN IS ROOTED IN THE BALANCE BETWEEN BEAUTY AND PURPOSE
Because pretty petals may grab attention, but the strategy behind the design is what’s doing all the work underground

I will tell you if the logo you designed on Canva will hurt you in the long run, or if your homepage headline could use a rewrite to better align with your audience. This whole thing is a totally collaborative process and I’ll give you my honest feedback for every part of it!
PRIORITIZING FUNCTIONALITY
You already know this one because I’m clearly passionate about it, but all my designs truly prioritize functionality as much as aesthetics. I refuse to design logos that look cool until they’re put into actual places where they’d be used in everyday life.
